Este artículo analiza la sostenibilidad externa de un grupo de 23 países de la OCDE durante el periodo 1970-2020. La estrategia empírica adoptada muestra la importancia del desequilibrio acumulado como desencadenante del ajuste externo, en línea con la propuesta de Gourinchas y Rey (2007). Abstract Underground calcarenite quarries in Marsala (Sicily) have been involved in a number of collapses that have, seriously damaged numerous buildings. The stability conditions were therefore examined in order to assess risk conditions within the historical centre of the town and the surrounding areas, which are subject to urban expansion. Starting with an extensive collection of historical information, the research was carried out through surveys of the cavities, systematic sampling of material, petrographic analysis and geotechnical testing. A validated procedure was used to link mothers with their newborns, and maternal and fetal pathologies likely to affect birth weight were excluded. Control charts represent an efficient and easy tool to assure the state of statistical quality control in a manufacturing process. These tools are also implemented in continuous processes, where the critical parameters are often monitored by on line sensors measuring data with short time intervals. In this paper a continuous process is monitored by using control charts and its dynamic is modeled through linear time series that allow the effects of the autocorrelation to be eliminated. Estimating growth charts via nonparametric quantile regression: a practical framework with application in ecology.

We discuss a practical and effective framework to estimate reference growth charts via regression quantiles. Inequality constraints are used to ensure both monotonicity and non-crossing of the estimated quantile curves and penalized splines are employed to model the nonlinear growth patterns with respect to age. A companion R package is presented and relevant code discussed to favour spreading and application of the proposed methods.

Project monitoring activities are fundamental to assure a timely identification of unacceptable project's deviations from the baseline, so that corrective actions may be taken to bring the project back in line with its objectives. Regarding this, the most used approach is the Earned Value Management (EVM) technique.
